1996 · Directed by Doug Liman
Two out-of-work actors in mid-90s LA hit the lounge scene and try to forget their exes. You're so money and you don't even know it.
Why It's Cult
Swingers is Favreau's screenwriting debut and a snapshot of a specific LA moment — the swing/lounge revival, the Dresden Room, the rat-pack-cosplay energy of the mid-nineties. Vince Vaughn playing Vince Vaughn for the first time. The answering machine scene is the cringe-comedy peak of the decade. Every "money" you've ever heard traces back to this movie.
